Aleksandr Ivanovich Falameev (b. 22 April 1924) is an Honoured Coach of the RSFSR, Lesgaft Institute associate professor and international-category referee. He won the lightweight (67.5 kg) at the 1955 USSR Championships and the 1956 Spartakiad, and set USSR records in the 1950s. Chairman of the Leningrad federation since 1958, he joined the USSR federation presidium in 1959 and the EWF technical committee in 1973, and holds the IWF bronze and EWF gold medals. Author of the children's sports school syllabus and first textbooks on weightlifting for youths. Party member since 1948, war veteran.
